The Center for Army Tactics department (CTAC) provides a program of instruction that prepares officers to plan, execute, and command full spectrum and combined arms operations from battalion through corps level. CTAC is looking for instructors that are knowledgeable in tactics, have recent operational experience in theater, have completed MEL4, a Master Degree is a plus but not required, Branch Qualified as battalion and/or brigade S3 or XO or equivalent by individual branch (TOE preferred), have a strong warrior ethos and possess the staff and leadership skills to teach and guide the students to their goals. Former battalion commanders are welcome.
The Department of Military History (DMH) offers a curriculum which provides students an opportunity to sharpen their critical thinking and writing skills and to inform their judgment by an examination of historical precedent. Specifically, the history curriculum examines how military institutions transform during both peace and conflict. The curriculum also investigates the impact of social, economic, and political change on military transformation. DMH also offers a very wide variety of electives. DMH is looking for instructors with a 5X (historian) ASI or a Ph.D. in history. Ph.D. Candidates and those with a masters degree in history are also acceptable. Candidates should have strong teaching skills in adult education methodologies.
The Department of Command and Leadership (DCL) offers instruction designed to assist field grade officers develop a perspective as organizational-level leaders. The program of instruction is designed to facilitate officers' understanding of the Army's leader assessment and development process and to improve their mental agility, awareness, and ability to resolve complex military challenges. It helps prepare them to lead large military organizations in joint and multinational settings. Specifically, the curriculum examines foundations of service, doctrine, climate, leadership styles, leader skills and actions, leader philosophy, ethical reasoning, dealing with the media, negotiations, and battle command. LID also offers electives in the area of leadership. LID seeks instructors with masters or doctorate degrees, experience as military leaders, and passion for working with student officers in leader development. While not required, battalion or brigade command experience is a plus.
The Directorate of Joint and Multinational Operations (DJMO) provides students an understanding of strategic and operational doctrinal principles as well as Service component perspectives of joint force employment at the operational level. The curriculum incorporates the application of the instruments of power across full-spectrum operations to include CFLCC operational-level planning. The department is responsible for Joint Advanced Warfighting and the Special Operations programs. DJMO also offers a very wide variety of regionally focused electives. DJMO is looking for instructors with joint or operational-level experience. Candidates should have a 6Z ASI, 48 FAO experience, operational planning or JSO credentials. A masters degree, preferably in security or area studies, is required.
The Directorate of Logistics and Resource Operations (DLRO) provides students an understanding of full spectrum sustainment operational planning as well as an understanding of force management. DLRO also offers a very wide variety of regionally focused electives. DLRO is looking for instructors with joint, operational experience. MEL-4 and a Masters degree are minimum requirements. Candidates should have strong teaching skills in adult education methodologies. |
